Grant Macara is the Director of Cyber Security Strategic Responses and Coordination at the National Office of Cyber Security, where he contributes to whole-of-government efforts to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to complex cyber security challenges. He has extensive experience advising senior decision-makers across government on the nexus of cyber, critical and emerging technologies and national security.

Grant’s career reflects deep expertise in cyber security, intelligence integration, and technology policy. Previously, Grant has worked in a number of departments and agencies in national security and law enforcement intelligence and national security policy roles; leading high-performing teams to manage sensitive multi-stakeholder projects, and build strong partnerships across government, internationally and with industry and academia.
