Perth celebrates a successful, inaugural Indo-Pacific Robotics, Autonomy, AI & Cyber Conference and Exhibition

The Indo-Pacific Robotics, Autonomy, AI and Cyber Conference and Exhibition (IPRAAC 2025) successfully concluded last week, bringing together international experts, industry leaders, and government representatives to advance collaboration and innovation across the Indo-Pacific region. Held from 7th to 9th October 2025 at Pan Pacific Perth, the event showcased a dynamic program of presentations, workshops, exhibitions, and technical tours.

IPRAAC 2025 featured a distinguished lineup of over 110 speakers and panellists from 20 countries covering sectors that included defence, mining, energy, agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and space. Officially opened by Hon Stephen Dawson, Minister for Regional Development, Ports, Science and Innovation, Medical Research and Minister for the Kimberly, the conference also acknowledged attending dignitaries from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Thailand, Ireland, South Korea, Spain, South Africa, and Ukraine.

His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia said, “It was an honour to speak about the emerging defence technologies at this conference.”

National partners supporting the event included Curtin University, Fugro SpAARC, and LC60 AI, with Edith Cowan University as the opening plenary partner and WA Data and Science Innovation Centre as AI Power Partner. Additional industry and community partners such as Robotics Australia Group, CyberWest Hub, Subsea Innovation Cluster Australia, IEEE Signal Processing Society and Women in Technology WA underscored IPRAAC’s mission to foster cross-sector collaboration, bridging robotics, AI, autonomy, and cyber disciplines across defence, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, and more.

Venkat Pillay, CEO of LC60 AI added, “A great week at IPRAAC 2025 with new developments for business. We are happy to announce our partnership with OQ Technology to combine combine our Earth Observation analytics capabilities with OQ’s Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity to unlock new use cases in Agriculture, Oil and Gas and Mining in Western Australia and across the Indo Pacific region.”

The conference program included workshops led by Google, Curtin University, and the Office of Defence Industry Support, along with technical tours by Fugro SpAARC, Curtin University, the Western Australian Space Science Education Centre, and the Australian Autonomation and Robotics Precinct (AARP).

The exhibition floor highlighted cutting-edge technologies, startup showcase zones, and networking opportunities, demonstrating the practical applications and commercial potential of autonomous systems and dual-use technologies. Exhibitors included the WA Data Science Innovation Hub, Auto Control Systems, Chironix, Ausco Group, Transcelestial, LC60 AI, LEAP Australia, Bloom, intaris, Unchartered AI, Red Piranha, Aiila Innovations and Airscope.

David Matrai, Committee Chair for IPRAAC 2025 said, “IPRAAC 2025 is an overwhelming success. Bringing together experts from across nations and sectors has catalysed partnerships, inspired innovation, and advanced real-world solutions in robotics, AI, and cyber. The energy, collaboration, and expertise witnessed over the past three days set a new benchmark for cross-disciplinary engagement in the Indo-Pacific region.”
